How Chacho works
You type English. They read Spanish. Nobody installs anything.
-
Something needs doing, and you don't have the Spanish for it
A water heater is leaking. The car won't start. You need a dentist, a notary, a locksmith at nine on a Sunday night. You're new here, or you've been here five years and still freeze on the phone.
-
You open Chacho in WhatsApp
He's a contact, not an app. Nothing to download, nothing to sign into, no new icon on your home screen. If you can message a friend, you can message Chacho.
-
You tell him the problem, in English
Plain words. No form, no menu, no “press 1 for plumbing.” Type it the way you'd say it to a neighbor.
-
He names providers first, then offers to make contact
Chacho starts with who, because that's the part you can't Google in a language you don't read. Real local providers, with the trade-offs that actually decide it — how far, how fast, how much.
Then he offers to reach out, and shows you exactly what he'd say. “Yes” sends it. Anything else edits it. He never sends a word you haven't seen.
YouMy water heater is leaking and I don't speak Spanish. I'm near Centro in La Paz.ChachoThree I'd call, all used by people here:- Taller Hidalgo — 10 minutes away, does same-day
- Plomería Ramírez — cheapest, usually next morning
- Fontanería del Golfo — 24/7, and charges for it
YouyesChachoHere's what I'll send: Good morning — my water heater is leaking. Are you available today? I'm near Centro in La Paz. Send it, or tell me what to change.YouyesExample conversation

He sends it — in Spanish
What lands on the plumber's phone is a normal message from a normal customer, in his own language, at the register he'd expect. No screenshot of Google Translate, no apology for the Spanish.
Taller Hidalgo seesBuenos días — mi calentador de agua tiene una fuga. ¿Tiene disponibilidad hoy? Estoy cerca del Centro en La Paz. -
Then he disappears into the middle of it
From here Chacho is a wire, not a chat partner. You write English and it arrives in Spanish. He answers in Spanish and it reaches you in English. Same thread, same speed, nothing to copy and paste.
Your chat ENHis chat ESI can be there at 2. Is it the tank or the connection?Puedo llegar a las 2. ¿Es el tanque o la conexión?The water is coming from the bottom of the tank.El agua sale de la parte de abajo del tanque.Sounds like the tank. I'll bring a replacement with me.Suena al tanque. Llevo uno de repuesto conmigo.Example conversation

Done. He goes back to waiting
The plumber comes at two. Chacho doesn't need managing, closing or unsubscribing — he sits in your contacts until the next thing breaks, the next appointment needs making, or the next form shows up in Spanish.
